NIVEA: THE MANLY WAY TO PUT ON LIP BALM

This ad campaign was created for my Portfolio class at Temple University. The campaign, "The Manly Way To Put on Lip Balm" was created as a spoof to sale Nivea Lip Balm. 

There is no “proper” way to put on lip balm for guys. However, on the online forum Reddit, there are actually a few threads discussing that there is a proper way for men to put on lip balm. So, I made a parody of the suggested answers on this thread and utilized the results in print, social media video commercial, and OOH advertising.

OUT OF HOME TAKEOVER

Being that Nivea is one of the sponsors of the Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve, this campaign will utilize that and raise it to a whole other level through the use of the digital out of home space in Times Square. The social media and print ads will compliment the OOH efforts.

 

Nivea will be taking over the 2:00-1:01 slot of New Years Eve. The focus on NYE is always on the last minute to midnight. However, there is so much hype about that minute and watching the countdown that not everyone is actually prepared for midnight when it comes. So, the host, Ryan Seacrest, will have everyone in Times Square collectively use the 2 minute till midnight to get their lips prepped for kissing at midnight with Nivea.

 

Also on the screens in Times Square during this 2 minute till midnight, the photos used from the print ads will be plastered on every screen, showing men different ways to put on their Nivea lip balm! Throughout the night, Nivea will also have been giving away product, so that everyone is using Nivea during this moment.
